Tell us a little bit about your label (art) and what you do?
Launching trovemytreasures‘ debut collection in October 2013 with Penny Lane, Anita Pallenberg, the Rolling Stones and the debauchery of the 1960s as muses and source of inspiration – Almost Famous cemented the trovemytreasures brand through it’s editorial styling and photography. This unapologetic badass attitude and effortless cool would become the label’s signature style in all collections.
What inspires your work?
I have lived in London, worked in New York City, New Zealand & Hong Kong. An avid traveller, I have travelled the world, from Europe and South America to adventures taking me off the beaten track. Having watched sunsets along the Nile, driven across the Sahara to chasing the Aurora Borealis inside the Arctic Circle and climbing the Atlas Mountains in Morocco…fused with an innate sense for styling, love of history, film and rockstars – trovemytreasures was born.
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
My background is in business and marketing, prior to doing this full-time, I was a marketing manager looking after ANZ for a US IT company.
What memorable responses have you had to your work?
Sophia Amoruso, the founder of Nasty Gal favorited my Tweet! Also, during a photoshoot, one of the models made a remark that will stay with me forever. During the excitement and fun she was experiencing by being a part of my Circus photoshoot, she said to me that she felt so lucky to be able to do a photoshoot with me, where she can say she did a photoshoot with me in the early days of my label where I was still doing my own photoshoots!

What is your dream project?
Working with Grace Coddington, Creative Director of American Vogue on an editorial photoshoot for trovemytreasures or styling a music video.
Favourite or most inspirational place in Sydney?
The beach!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Energy flows where intention goes.
What advice would you give to new, aspiring Makers?
Believe in yourself, learn fast, fail forward and don’t give up, any progress no matter how small is progress towards your goal/dream.
And most importantly, what would your ultimate karaoke song be?
Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
