Tell us a little bit about your label (art) and what you do?

What’s ILLARIY ? The definition of ILLARIY comes from Quechua. Quechua was the language of the Inca Empire and it means ‘Shiny’. As I’m a Jewellery & Object Designer and make jewellery; I decided to name my brand ILLARIY.

Many things but mainly nature, dreams and trips.

Manager

What memorable responses have you had to your work?

Fostering Talent Silver Piece at the 10th Biennial Leviny Commemoratives Exhibition of Contemporary Australian Silver & Metalwork at BUDA in Castlemaine, Victoria.

One thing you can’t live without?

My phone as its my notebook, agenda & reminder.

My love for life !

How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?

Charming, good listener and great sense of humor.

What is the next skill you want to learn?

Leather working

What is your dream project?

Having a gallery space to exhibit different medias from photography, art, sculpture, jewellery, etc to support artists.

Favourite or most inspirational place in Sydney?

Sydney beaches as I’m a fish on the ocean and swimming at the North Sydney Olympic Pool. Water its an inspiration for me in many areas of my life.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

From my head teacher (Catherine Harrington) at Enmore Design Centre when I was finishing my jewellery pieces : Pristine Janis pristine ! I told her this once and we laughed together…

What advice would you give to new, aspiring Makers?

If you love what you do, just do it ! Don’t do it because of the money you would get, do what you like with passion…the money will come after.
