Tell us a little bit about your label (art) and what you do?

With Blossom Tree Designs I create a range of paper printables and ready made stationery items. I began by working primarily in the party world creating custom invitations and printable accessories while I was studying Graphic Design. Since then I have created across many mediums. Recently, I have designed a range of hand drawn art and graphic art that has made up my collection of stationery. This is something I have always wanted to do so I am very excited about this new direction. I hope to eventually include designs for textiles and ceramics for the home.

What inspires your work?

I am inspired by the simple things around me in my everyday and by the things that conjure a sense a nostalgia and hold sentimental value to myself and others. Things like my Grandmothers old sewing machine or my Grandfathers record and movie collection. Classic movies and anything from the 1940s – 1960s really inspire me. I really enjoy exploring all aspects of design from these eras. While it may not directly influence my work it provides me with the space to realise my next creative direction.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?

I currently work as a freelance designer. For the past seven years I have worked in the costume and art departments for several children’s TV programs with Ambience Entertainment. I have also worked in hospitality, admin, childcare and education.
