In this chilled workshop we will cover the basics of Tapestry Weaving in a friendly setting. You will learn how to start your weave (warping the loom), learn the basic stitches of tapestry weaving and how to safely take your woven fabric off the loom. You will also learn how to make fringing and learn tips on colour, composition and design. We will use a variety of natural and man made fibres: roving, cotton, silk, raffia and upcycled materials – and have fun combining them to create a beautiful piece of art for your wall.
We will be using locally made bamboo looms and weaving tools designed by Miss Helen, with the option to buy at the end of the class.
