Emilie Zoey Baker
Poet and spoken word performer Emilie Zoey Baker is the 2010 winner of Slam!Review the poetry slam held during the Berlin International Literature Festival, in which she competed as the first-ever Australian entrant among contestants from ten countries. She also performed poetry in London, Paris and Singapore as well as being a featured guest at the 2010 /13/14 Ubud Writers and Readers Festivals in Bali.
OMAR
Omar bin Musa (born 9 January 1984) is a poet and rapper from Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia. He won the Australian Poetry Slam in 2008 and the Indian Ocean Poetry Slam in 2009. He has released two solo hip hop records (The Massive EP and World Goes to Pieces), two self-published books (The Clocks and Parang) and a self-titled album with international hip hop group MoneyKat. His debut novel Here Come The Dogs was published through Penguin Books (Australia) in July 2014.
Omar Musa is best known for his political hip hop lyrics and his poems “My Generation”, “Fireflies” and “CAPITAL LETTERS”.
Ee’da
Ee’da is a poet and musical artist who has worked with a broad range of established musicians including Illuminati Congo(US), Cyclonious (UK), Hugo(AU), DJ Nomad(NZ), Mista Savona(AU) Caveman(JM) and has supported international acts such as Lyrics Born and Dead Prez.
She is the Founder and Creative Director of Sisters for Sisters (SFS), a women’s arts and music collective that spearheads fundraising initiatives for worthy causes locally and abroad. Most recently, she was awarded the ‘Victoria’s Multicultural Awards for Excellence’ from the Government House for her engagement in community work.
Luka Lesson:
Luke Haralampou, aka Luka Lesson, is a spoken word and Hip-hop artist of Greek heritage from Australia.
With three years of international touring, 13 Writers’ Festivals, 7 years of workshop experience and almost ten years of writing under his belt, Luka has written commissions and performed for the likes of The Nuyorican Poets’ Cafe (NYC), The National Gallery of Victoria, Trinity International Hip-hop Festival, Greece’s pioneer Hip-hop group ‘Active Member’, OneBlood Festival in South Africa and China’s most celebrated living poet Xi Chuan in Beijing. He is also the Australian Poetry Slam champion of 2011 and Melbourne Overload Poetry Festival slam champion of 2010.
