This workshop will guide you through the hand lettering process, keeping a strong focus on script lettering.
From concept, to composition, to producing a finished piece, we will look at how adding detail – through swashes, flourishes, shadows and highlights – can help bring a piece to life.
The majority of the workshop will be centred around creating and refining a single piece, so come armed with a single word or short phrase in mind that you would like to hand letter! As you develop and refine your piece you will be working with pens and pencils (feel free to bring along any tools you might like to experiment with), however during the workshop we will move to chalk, and at the end of the day you will have your very own hand-lettered blackboard to take home and continue practicing! All are welcome!
