Knitting doesn’t have to be slow or fiddly, it just takes the right technique. In this workshop, you’ll learn the continental style of knitting, where the yarn is held in your left hand and stitches fly off the needles with ease. It’s fast, efficient, and might just change the way you think about knitting.
You’ll start with the foundations: how to cast on, knit and purl using the continental method, and bind off your stitches. Along the way, you’ll discover the difference between continental and English styles, learn how to manage your yarn for steady tension, and start reading simple knitting patterns.
This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly class where you’ll be guided step by step by Jeni, who’ll also share her instructional videos so you can keep practising at home. By the end, you’ll be ready to keep building your skills; whether you want to knit a cosy scarf for yourself or a snood for your four-legged friend.
