In this class Nanna MeiFen will demonstrate the knitting techniques she has been using for many years and will impart a little understanding of Chinese culture along the way.

What you'll get

This class will have a Chinese Interpreter, so will be suitable for both Chinese and English speaking students

* Coloured Sewing Thread

* Scissors

* Paper board

* Fabrics / Cotton Materials

what to bring

All materials will be provided, but if you would like to work with your own needles, fabrics, thread (etc) please bring along.

About MeiFen Shen

MeiFen was born in China in 1945, moved to Singapore in her retirement and now lives in Sydney.
She has always been a very creative person and joined a Chinese opera troupe when she was 15years old and has since held key roles as a primary performer, scenarist and director. When she moved to Singapore she formed a Chinese opera team and attracted about 20 members, where she trained them and organised many public shows using scripts they developed as a team. All the dresses for these performances were designed and made by MeiFen herself.
MeiFen has always had an interest in Chinese Knitting and for over the past 20 + years, has been designing, making and wearing the costumes and dresses in numerous shows in many countries.
