Miss Helen is a mixed media contemporary artist and graphic designer who works in textiles and paper.
She makes zines, spins yarn, makes pom poms, postcards, full scale installations, surface design and knits, crochets, weaves and embroiders. She likes to combine kawaii aesthetics with an appreciation for the natural world, over processed petroleum based pink plastic with hand washed and processed alpaca, rough quartz stone with glitter glue, post riot grrrl sensibilities with an appreciation for slow living.
She is passionate about the process of making, and of using the process as a self-soothing meditative practice. She believes in the invisible magic that a handmade item carries as well as the sense of empowerment the maker grows through making and completing beautiful tangible projects that reflect their identity.
