In this 3 hour workshop with leatherworker Jack Miller, you’ll learn a range of techniques for hands-on tooling of leather. Discover the traditional and modern methods used to transform a raw piece of leather into a work of art, including stamping, carving, etching and embossing. Explore how easy it is to add your own personal designs to enhance the beauty of your leather project, choosing to make a selection of coasters, key tags or suitcase tags during the class.

Working with raw, vegetable tanned leather, you will learn how to apply your own creative design before exploring the techniques of highlighting, colouring and finishing your projects, complete with bevelling and burnishing the edges.

With the skills you learn, you’ll be able to make an abundance of items, whether it be a journal cover, belt, wallet or something entirely different! So come along and learn how to work with one of natures finest resources and make beautiful creations that will last the test of time and be admired for generations!
