In any creative industry, developing your own style is key to not only to generate interest in your work, but also to develop your own direction and themes. Over the three hours of this workshop, Georgia will walk the class through an exploration of her own approach to create unique letter forms and compositions.
Rather than building up illustrative elements like her previous workshop, this type-based session will push your hand lettering to create truly unique letterforms through a series of approaches, such as breaking down existing typefaces, physically taking apart letters to create new forms, and experimenting with new processes.
This workshop is great for anyone looking to develop their lettering experience that little bit further, whether you’ve mastered the basics of type and letterforms, or are just getting started.
What you'll get
Each attendee will receive a zine to take home especially created for the workshop, that covers all of the content and approaches covered – so all you have to do is focus on what’s right in front of you rather than taking notes! There will also be a range of prepared letter styles, paper, pens and pencils to use and experiment with.
what to bring
All materials are provided, however you are more than welcome to supply your own pencils, pens and markers. It’s also handy to bring a camera (iPhone etc is fine) to document your process.
