This course will be a brief look into some of the writing techniques Tom hasĀ learnt over his years as a lyricist for New ZealandĀ hip hop outfits Home Brew Crew and @Peace.
In this 4 hour workshop we’llĀ Ā review some of the fundamentals of the craft such as syncopation, time signature and multi syllabic rhyme schemes, as well as some of the more abstract parts of the art form, such as improvisation, feel and the role of the sub conscious within music.
WeĀ canāt promise you’ll beĀ the next Kendrick Lamar, but you’ll definitely walk away with a better understanding of someĀ important aspectsĀ ofĀ the art form and learn some valuable insights and ideas thatĀ Tom has picked up on his travels.
