Add a little art, culture, and creativity to your everyday carry. In this Bag Charm Workshop, you’ll design and handcraft your own one-of-a-kind charm. Choosing from three unique styles inspired by both traditional and modern techniques. Just in time to make some for holiday gifts too!!

Taught by a Melbourne-based illustrator and designer, Sam Kenneally, this workshop draws inspiration from traditional Chinese knot tying, a practice rich with symbolism and history, while also exploring playful, contemporary approaches to craft. You’ll have the option to create:

A knotted charm, exploring the beauty and meaning of traditional decorative knots

A beaded charm, designed around colour, texture, and balance

Or a hand-sewn, stuffed creature charm, a soft, whimsical character full of personality

Each student will choose one project to focus on and complete during the session, with all materials, tools, and step-by-step guidance provided. You’ll leave with a finished piece (or two) that’s as individual as you are and the skills to keep making more at home.
