In this 3 hour workshop you will be introduced to Copperplate Calligraphy. Copperplate is a style of calligraphic writing, which uses a sharp pointed nib in a pen-holder instead of the flat nib pen.

Focusing our attention on the lowercase alphabet, you will learn the difference between calligraphy, lettering and typography, as well as the guidelines, historical context and examples of applied works.

You will spend the main part of the class getting some serious practise in of this style, before progressing to making your finished piece. You’ll acquire some serious skills and finish off by writing a short quote or phrase to give as a hand made card!  Just in time for Christmas!
