It’s likely that you’ve been prescribed antibiotics at least once. While they’re great at getting rid of unwanted bacteria, they also destroy populations of good bacteria that live in our gut. It’s becoming clear that there’s a close relationship between the brain and the gut, and stressing or calming one can affect the other. If your gut is sad, your brain probably is too, and vice versa. Science is discovering that the gut-brain connection is linked to both disease prevention and emotional expression.

In this class, you’ll learn how to include prebiotic and probiotic foods into your diet, how to improve your gut function and thus change the health of your brain. We’ll also go over a post-antibiotic regimen. Participants will prepare a starter, main salad, and dessert in class, plus a delicious cookie dough to take home and bake. You’ll leave the class more mindful of how you fuel your body, and how to change your gut and brain for the better through food.
