Convert trash to treasure in this three-hour workshop, where you’ll create an upcycled wood cube lamp from scratch. Using reclaimed timber offcuts and old fence posts, we’ll cover sanding, painting, polishing and assembling your bright new friend. Under the guidance of Michael from Upswitch, you’ll learn how to repurpose what many consider garbage into charming and functional objects, which make great gifts.

The methods taught in this class can be applied to many found objects. Lamps have been made from kitchenalia, science and laboratory instruments, books and photographic equipment. All materials are provided, just bring along your imagination. Be inspired to view the world through a different lens and you’ll start recognising potential beauty in junk everywhere. Repurpose rubbish, illuminate your mind and brighten the dark.
