This workshop explores the use of type as a language, and the way that meaning can be visually enhanced through the way we use type to “dress” our words. We are surrounded by fonts everywhere in our everyday lives, and we use them to navigate our environment, and understand instinctively that they communicate a great deal of the information before we even begin to read the words.

In this workshop, participants are introduced to a series of typographic techniques to dress their swear words, to creatively enhance the impact of the message of these words. They will be taken through a series of exercises, discuss ideas as a group and respond to feedback.

Participants will take away an enhanced knowledge of how to use hand-lettering skills to create and enhance meaning.
