Hand Made Terracotta Planters

If all your children are green and you can’t see the walls for the leaves, if a fresh new shoot makes your heart go toot, if Mama Nature’s tendrils have crept into your home and around your heart: this workshop’s for you. Tina from Clay by Tina has designed a class to give you the tools and skills to transform terracotta into planters for your babies. You’ll pinch, coil and work the clay, adding legs and applying decorating techniques to put your own spin on traditional terracotta. This ancient orange clay is the OG earthenware medium, and has been used for millennia worldwide in both art and utilitarian formats.

You’ll leave this workshop with up to four new planters, knowledge of the fundamentals of claywork (including decorating techniques and the ‘rules’ for attaching handles and legs), and the skills and confidence to continue your terracotta adventures unsupervised. Homeless flora friends no more!
