Shibori: Indigo Dyeing

The workshop will begin with learning about Indigo as a plant dye methods, its lineage, brief history and a discussion of its importance in cultures around the globe. You will design your own dyed project and be introduced to beautiful Shibori techniques. You will learn how to use a natural fructose sugar vat to achieve different shades of blue.

Indigo is the colour of wisdom, clarity and deep inner knowing. Join us as we share the brilliant hues of one of the oldest natural plant dyes in the world. Indigo Dying has an alchemy and process especially unique to this queen plant.

You will leave with an understanding on indigo dyeing as well as your very own unique piece. Shibori is fun to learn and something you can use at home to revamp your own furnishings and clothing!

This workshop uses a chemical-free and all natural dyeing process.
