From Sydney to Mexico and everywhere in between, Vexta’s bold artworks have become an iconic part of the global street art landscape.

Known for her use of vivid colour, geometric shards and precise stencil work, Vexta constantly moves her practice between the studio and the street. Currently based in Brooklyn, NY, Vexta has returned to Australia for a short time only, offering exclusive workshops in both Melbourne and Sydney. Come view the world through her psychedelic kaleidoscope!

Part discussion, part hands-on art making – this 5 hour workshop will explore the importance of developing your own personal symbology and how it can be used to inspire and inform your creative process. Discussing themes such as science, cosmology, mythology, life/death and the feminine, Vexta will share some of her own personal symbology and how she uses it to uncover common threads that bind our experience. Through a series of activities you’ll explore ways to translate complex themes into art that conveys genuine meaning.

The second half of the workshop will focus on developing practical skills; including painting, stencil art & aerosol techniques, before progressing on to creating your own original mixed media artwork. Vexta will offer individual guidance throughout, sharing tips and insights into her process. You’ll also have the chance to put your new skills to the test and contribute to a large scale collaborative mural exploring a theme chosen by the class.

Whether you’re a practising artist looking to push your boundaries, or simply a huge fan of Vexta’s art, don’t miss this amazing opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s leading street artists.
