Life Drawing with Covert Characters

“Covert Characters Life Drawing” is a themed life drawing class based in Melbourne’s trendy Fitzroy. Our aim is to make life drawing fun and accessible so that artist of all skill levels from professionals to first timers can enjoy drawing from a live model. Themes range from fairly traditional nudes to vibrant body paint, costumes, famous figure tributes and everything in between.

Your hosts, Hini and Jean-Luc will begin the class with a short tutorial with tips on drawing figures and proportion, giving recommendations for how to get the best drawing practice out of the class time. The 90-minute class starts with the model doing short poses with a 10 minute break in the middle followed by the longer 10 and 15 minute poses. These timed poses make it easy to get into the groove and really improve your drawing as the class progresses.   After the halfway break the class is encouraged to ask Hini and Jean-Luc for any drawing advice they might need and make the most of their expertise!

Wine and snacks are included in your ticket price and can be enjoyed throughout the class. Doors open at 6:15 for 6:30 start time. Paper and a variety of drawing materials are provided.

February Theme:

Kicking off 2018 we zoomed into the future with Leeloo, now we now take you to the bowels of hell with Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn”. It’s impossible to think of that film and not think of its most famous scene ~ with the voluptuously deadly ‘Santanico Pandemonium’ played by Salma Hayek.

For our Covert participants we give you a sumptuous treat having Melbourne rock/burlesque star Ferri Maya Burlyrock modelling for us along with a real like snake!
