In this 3 hour workshop you will be introduced to Copperplate Calligraphy, focusing our attention on the lowercase alphabet. You will learn the difference between calligraphy, lettering and typography, as well as the guidelines, historical context and examples of applied works.
You will spend the main part of the class working with walnut ink, before progressing on to using silver and gold inks on black card to create a finished piece.You’ll acquire some serious skills and finish off by writing some Christmas greetings in metallic inks!
