Kombucha has been around in Northern China and parts of Russia since the late 1800’s. It is taken as a health elixir and is widely regarded for its health benefits, one customer has even told the story of using the SCOBY to cure tropical sores!
Here at The Picklery, we know that there are health benefits to Kombucha, although we’re not so sure about using the SCOBY as a topical treatment for open sores. We’d like to share with you our knowledge of Kombucha, what some of the health benefits are and most importantly, how you can make your own Kombucha at home. It is so easy to do!
This course will teach you about the health benefits of Kombucha and separate some of the myths from the realities. By the end of the evening, you will be able to confidently take home your own SCOBY and brew your own Kombucha. We’ll show you what equipment you need to brew at home and the expensive equipment you DON’T need. We’ll also talk about how to flavour your Kombucha so you can impress everyone with great flavours like Watermelon and Mint, Peach and Lime or anything else you think goes well together.
