In this 3 hour workshop with Noir Darkroom, participants will both shoot and develop their very own roll of black and white film whilst creatively documenting the local urban environment.

Participants will be provided with an analogue camera (simple or advanced depending on the skill of participant) for the duration of the workshop and a 36 exposure roll of black and white film.

We will begin with a quick lesson of the fundamentals of photography and street/urban photography before heading out into the streets to shoot our films. We will wander and explore the local Fitzroy area and capture it using creative photographic techniques.

Once our films are full we will head back to Work-Shop where we will develop our films together using simple chemistry.

This is a creative and process based workshop so we will focus more on the creative image/subject rather than the technical function of the camera. Toy cameras and point and shoot cameras are recommended regardless of participant’s skill level.

This process leads into endless creative opportunities that participants will be able to take home with them.

No previous experience is required and all materials and tools will be provided!
