Gothic Calligraphy Workshop

In this workshop you will be introduced to Gothic Calligraphy, also known as Fraktur Calligraphy, focusing our attention on the lowercase alphabet, guidelines, and historical context. Get an introduction to the materials, tools and how to set them up, as well as loading ink into the nibs. We’ll then move on to execution and how to troubleshoot ink flow problems. 

Once the mechanics are covered, it’s time to practice posture & pen grip before moving onto fundamental strokes that make up the letters of the alphabet. With plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get one-on-one helo & guidance, you’ll leave armed with the skills to take your calligraphy to the next level!
