Within this workshop, participants will explore the idea of catching shadows using the early photographic process, the Cyanotype. Using simple chemistry and the power of the sun, participants will develop imprints of found objects, as well as classic style botanic prints and collage based prints.

Participants will also learn about professionally preparing paper and materials for printmaking, and all resulting prints will be archival and museum quality.

All materials are provided, including objects for creating photograms (plants, flowers, textiles, etc) but participants are welcome to bring along their own objects. Flat objects with varying levels of transparency are most effective but if it is a sunny day, creative images can be used by manipulating the shadows of 3D objects.
