Learn how to transform your hand lettering from analog to digital in this full day lettering workshop with self-taught type fanatic Lachlan Philp.

Lachlan’s letter journey began with a simple cheap brush pen and has escalated to boxes filled with various pens, markers and brushes in a constant need to experiment and further his lettering skills. It was not long before his hand type was needed in the digital space – with that came a whole new challenge of how to translate beautiful curves and letterforms successfully into a digital piece.

In the first half of this 1 day intensive workshop budding letterers will go through the basics of lettering with various pens and markers using techniques that you will take home to practice your lettering further.

The second half of the day we will move into the digital arena where we will look at some of the best tips and techniques to turn your piece into a super smooth piece of digital lettering.

What you'll get

We will provide a substantial range of different brush pens and markers for the participants to use and experiment with. We will also be providing various paper stock for you to scribble all over. If you’re the ‘organised type’ and like to keep all your work in the one place we suggest that you could bring along your own A3 bound sketchbook, however this isn’t compulsory.

All participants need to bring is a laptop with Adobe illustrator CS5 or later.
